Facebook buys Instageam for $1 billion, wonder how much it will be worth when everyone closes their account ? I’m deleting the App. Facebook has become almost an necessary evil but is ran in such an appalling way that it will be there downfall.

Wish bills didn’t need to be paid but they do. Autocad being downloaded as we speak (going to take hours since I’m using a T mobile dongle until BT arrive on Friday)

So it’s technical drawings, house plans etc for the next day or two !! Lil zeatbra will be getting half of my time for the next few days. :(

Just used manageflitter to tidy up the twitter account, fantastic tool, let’s you look through and filter your followers and who you follow and get rid of the bots, the non users and even do a keyword bio search, ideal for the massive pornographic following I have / had !!!

Klout score has had an increase to 34 over the last few days, a bit more tweeting and discovered foursquare ! I’m sure this had a positive impact. (also found a little flaw in foursquare !!!!) it seems you can add your twitter account and foursquare will go fetch your followers who are also foursquare users, turns out you can add ANYONE’S twitter name as their is no log in validation !!! So if none of your followers are foursquare users, use someone elses !!!

So does Klout have any Klout ? or is it just another business tapping into your existing social networks to create yet another social network ? Its too early to say but from what i have seen so far i quite like it, i can see me getting addicted to raising my score, this is probably just my competitive nature more than anything else, whether it serves any real purpose remains to be seen.

[I would be lying if i said i didnt spend over an hour on foursquare last night growing that neglected network, score didnt change, yet !!]

Facebook Love it or Hate it ?

Using Facebook for a while now, at first i was curious, then loved it, now use it to pretty much make a living by doing other companies social media management. So how do i feel about Facebook ?

As a product it does some pretty special things, things that today we cant imagine not having. As a product its terrible, updates without you applying them, limits without you knowing them, I am falling out of love with facebook at a very fast pace to the point I will be closing mine soon, so this does fly in the face of living without these super new features that we now have in our lives, staying in touch with old friends, gaining contact with new ones etc. I just think Socially, I am no better off, I lost touch with the people i chose to lose touch with, my best friends are still my best friends, I have no urge to tell the world what i am up to every second of the day, because i am simply busy, neither do i want to.

With regards to facebook as a business, this remains a mystery to me. They appear to be completely faceless, and voiceless ! no direct email, no telephone, they dont comment on posts on their page or tweets on their twitter. No other business operates this way, because they cant if they want to do ay business. Yes, its free, but i still expect to have assistance, without users there is no business for facebook. Unhappy Users = former users.

In summary, is my life richer for having an online social presence ?, no. One thing is for sure that Facebook will have to answer for the “future non communicating generation” who cant talk face to face and hold a conversation - but are quite happy to poke, tag, comment and share their every waking mundane thought.

Ironic that the facebook organisation are a faceless organisation, I can communicate with almost everyone around the world except facebook themselves ! just a thought
